Fifty standing, thirty seated, on Howden Street. A Spanish tasting menu if everyone is sitting down, pintxos and cava if they are not.

It is a real room rather than a curtained-off corner of the restaurant, which is the first thing worth saying, because plenty of places call a long table a private space. When it is yours it is yours: your music, your seating plan, your one guest who has decided they are doing a speech.
If everyone is sitting down we build an authentic Spanish tasting menu and bring it out course by course, with wine, sherry or vermut alongside if you want them matched. Around thirty is the comfortable maximum on one long table. If they are not sitting down, pintxos go round the room with cava, cocktails and Spanish beer, and fifty people fit without anyone eating over somebody’s shoulder.
Either way we tailor it to what you actually want rather than handing you a package, and because Alba Flamenca is on the other side of the wall, live flamenco or Spanish guitar can be part of the night rather than something you go somewhere else for afterwards. People come for dinner and end up staying for the show.
Two weeks’ notice is ideal and we can usually do less. Tell us the date, roughly how many, and whether they are sitting or moving about, and we will come back with a menu you can argue with. Vegans, coeliacs and the one person who does not eat fish are all routine, so say so early and we will build around them.

Three kinds of night
The room does the same job either way. What changes is how the night is shaped.
Intimate gatherings
Fifteen people who already know each other, one long table, and nobody looking at a watch. These are the easy ones. We put the food in the middle and get out of the way.
Celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries, the ones where somebody has quietly organised the whole thing and would like it to go well. Tell us who it is for and we will make sure the right plate arrives in front of the right person.
Corporate events
Work dinners that people actually want to come to. No lectern, no screen, no beige buffet. Just a Spanish tasting menu and a room where a table of twenty can hear each other.
